2008 Every Child Matters Consultation results now available

The 2008 Every Child Matters (ECM) consultation results have now been published and are available for use by all colleagues across the Partnership to inform decision making processes, service design and service delivery.

The 2008 process consulted with approximately 7,000 children and young people aged 0-19+; 61 schools were involved, seven children’s centres, colleges and work-based training providers.  Also 25 focus groups were held, with five sessions being held with specific vulnerable groups (looked after children [LAC], children with disabilities, young people not in education, employment or training [NEET]).

Results have been analysed by age, gender, ethnicity, Special Educational Needs (SEN), Free School Meals (FSM)/ Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) plus NEET for post-16s.

Following the analysis of the consultation reports, children and young people will identify priorities to further examine the reasons behind certain findings and, with the help of service providers, develop solutions to the issues raised.

Colleagues can download the city-wide report and/or a one page summary of the full report.

Findings from the consultation have also been broken down into various different categories.  These include reports by the five ECM outcomes, by the different participating age groups (early years, primary, secondary and post-16), by the seven Community Assembly areas, by the seven Service District areas and by focus group sessions.
