New Parents’ Assembly for Sheffield

The Parents’ Assembly, which will be launched over National Parents’ week (19 -25 October), is a new initiative which will bring together parents and carers from across Sheffield to be part of decision making around services for children, young people and their families.

The Parents’ Assembly will meet four times per year to discuss issues that matter to parents and carers, such as education, crime and inequalities.  It will also be an opportunity for services to engage with parents and carers in problem solving and service design.

The Assembly will be launched via an information event for parents and carers, on Monday 19 October from 12 – 5.00pm, in Sheffield Showcase Space (corner of Pinstone Street and Cambridge Street, City Centre).  The event will also be open on Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 October from 9.30 – 5.00pm.

The launch event will provide parents and carers with an opportunity to find out more information and become a member of the Assembly. It will also be open to professionals who would like more information on the Assembly and guidance on how parents they may be working with can get involved.
