BiG Zone lands in Castle Market
The BiG Zone at Castle Market in Sheffield was launched week commencing 7 July offering a chance for new entrepreneurs to trade in the indoor market complex.
The project at Castle Market is a new initiative set up between Sheffield Markets, BiG - Make it Your Business (both part of Sheffield City Council) and the Sheffield Enterprise Agency (part of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
The BiG Zone is a chance to do business inside a real indoor Sheffield market complex which already attracts more than 80,000 people per week. New businesses will be eligible for subsidised rent and support for an initial six month period and at the end of six months traders can decide how to take their business to the next stage.
BiG acknowledges that the risks involved in starting your own business can be high. The BiG Zone at Castle Market aims to reduce these risks as much as possible by providing support and keeping costs to a minimum. An added bonus is that Castle Market already has an established customer base for new businesses to tap in to.
Units will be provided as a shell with basic fixtures and fittings and BiG will also provide a sign for the front of each space.
