Healthy Sheffield Network Launch:
A celebration of 20 years of working to make Sheffield a Healthy City

Sheffield Launched the Healthy Sheffield Network at the Healthy Sheffield Event, on 26 February 2009, at Ponds Forge.  Organisations and individuals working in health came together to celebrate 20 years of making Sheffield Healthy.

Councillor Paul Scriven attended the event as a keynote speaker and made it clear that supporting the people of Sheffield to be Healthy and Independent is high on his political agenda.  Other speakers at the launch event were Jan Sobieraj, Chief Executive of NHS Sheffield, and Dr Jeremy Wight, Director of Public Health, NHS Sheffield.  (Please contact us if you would like copies of any of the presentations made on the day - an event programme is available for download below).

Exhibits from over 50 organisations working to ensure Sheffield is a healthy city, were open to event attendees and the public.  Exhibitors included Sheffield NHS Stop Smoking Service, Sheffield MIND, Healthy Schools, Care4Air, The Wildlife Trust and many more.  Activity Sheffield kept the event lively and true to its name with chairobics and line dancing demonstrations, and there was also a stall offering free fruit to delegates and exhibitors.
