Responding to the Recession
Sheffield First Partnership (SFP) is working hard to ensure that individuals and businesses are well protected from the effects of the recession:
- We have produced a Recession Action Plan which outlines the city's response to recession. The Plan can be found with the Strong Economy Board August meeting papers.
- We have commissioned a Debt Prevention Action Plan and held an event on 4 September to explore how we can work together to help the people of Sheffield to cope with the effects of the recession. Presentations and notes from this workshop are available for download.
- We produce monthly updates to monitor the economic position.
- To help make sure that Sheffield is ready for the economic recovery, already starting to be seen in other parts of the world, we have commissioned work to find out what needs to happen to make sure that there is good access to funding for local businesses. More details can be found in the SFP September Director’s Policy Report (under the heading Strong Economy Board update).
