Cllr Paul Scriven, Chair of Sheffield First PartnershipCllr Paul Scriven is the Leader of Sheffield City Council and is also Managing Director of a travel company, Your Asia Holidays Ltd, specialising in prestige holidays to Indo-China. Born in Huddersfield, he began his working life at 16 digging roads but decided to pursue further education and obtained a number of qualifications to degree level. His professional career started in the NHS and has included senior management at a number of hospitals as well as manager of a PLC working withthe health service. He takes a particular interest in environmental issues, economic regeneration, issues affecting young people and is a keen campaigner for community governance. John MothersoleJohn Mothersole is the Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, stepping up from his previous role as Executive Director of Development, Environment and Leisure. John joined Sheffield City Council in 1998 and since then has been directly and closely involved in much of the regeneration of the City Centre. His remit has also covered the City’s green heritage, the sustainability agenda, transport, culture and planning. Prior to coming to Sheffield he was a Director with the London Borough of Camden for seven years, and before that was the Arts Development Officer for Newcastle Upon Tyne. In his current role, John is Deputy Chair of the Sheffield First Partnership, Company Secretary to Creative Sheffield and a member of the Sheffield City Region Executive Group. He also represents City Regions on the Northern Way Management Group and is a member of Core Cities Chief Executives’ Group. Felicity EverissFelicity Everiss joined the Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber in June 1999 as regional director following a career in employment spanning more than 20 years. She joined the Department of Employment Group in London in 1976 and having worked in various areas of the organisation, including ministers' private offices, she moved to the Employment Department to work at director level in both its regional and head offices. Following a merger of the Department for Education and the Employment Department, Felicity was promoted to divisional manager with responsibility for lifelong learning, which included taking forward work on the Government's Green (Consultation) Paper 'The Learning Age'. Paul BroadbentPaul has over 25 years police service and has extensive experience within Uniform and CID posts at every rank up to and including Detective Superintendent, including periods in the Drug Squad, Robbery and Serious Crime Squads. More recently he headed the Force Serious and Organised Crime Unit, Gun Crime Unit and had responsibility for undercover policing methods. He has also led numerous homicide, kidnap and other serious crime enquiries. As Police Commander for Sheffield he has overall responsibility for policing of the City including community cohesion, Football, Firearms and Public Order Command, is a Senior Investigating Officer with National responsibilities and a member of the International Cadre for Hostage Negotiation. Paul is a Graduate of the FBI Academy – Quantico and New York Police Faculty USA and holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Studies. He is a Windsor Leadership Trust and Fulbright Fellowship Alumni having researched multiple homicide enquiries across the USA. Nigel TomlinsonA career spent in international business and management was excellent preparation for Nigel Tomlinson's current role as chief executive of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was born and bred in Doncaster and has remained in South Yorkshire for much of his working life - roots that have given him a sense of commitment to the area and its future development. Nigel was educated at Doncaster Grammar School and Hull University, where he earned a Masters degree in business administration. |
Rhiannon BillingsleyRhiannon Billingsley was appointed as Sheffield Hallam's Pro Vice-Chancellor for Regional and Public Health Development in September 2005. Her remit is to act as the University's key link to the regional and public health infrastructure, both locally and regionally, and to build on the existing excellent relationships already developed. Rhiannon joined the University in 2000 as Director of the School of Health and Social Care. She became Executive Dean of the newly established Faculty of Health & Wellbeing in 2003. Rhiannon's academic background is in social sciences, and she has followed an early career in management in Social Work. She was previously at Salford University as a Director of Social Work and Community Studies. She is a member of the Institute for Learning & Teaching in Higher Education. Rhiannon is a Non-Executive Board Member of Sheffield Primary Care Trust, and a Governor of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust and Northern College. She is also a Board Member of Sheffield First for Health and Wellbeing, South Yorkshire Coalfields Trust and Phoenix Sport. Her main research interest is within the area of Children and Young People. She is an Adjunct Professor to the University of Lethbridge, Canada where she has been recognised for her work in Interprofessional Health and Social Care Education. Jack ScottJack came to Sheffield 3 years ago to do his degree at the University of Sheffield. During that time, he has become heavily involved in a large number of VCF organisations, both within Sheffield and nationally. Jack's work in the VCF sector has been recognised with several awards. Jack is Chair of the Youth Action Network, a charity which aims to encourage young people to create the volunteering opportunities that suit them and that benefit their communities. Jack has chaired the Sheffield Young Carer's Initiative which supports young people who care for a relative. He is currently a Director at the Sheffield Mental Health CAB and works strategically to ensure the organisation is in a strong position to continue supporting people who have mental health issues. Jack is especially interested in issues around regeneration, inclusion, Closing the Gap and young people. Nick WarrenAs chief executive of Voluntary Action Sheffield, Nick Warren represents the voluntary, community and faith sectors on the Partnership board. He has been actively involved in partnership work in Sheffield for more than 15 years, including being a founder member of the Healthy Sheffield Board and his current role includes representing the organisation on a number of outside bodies. Nick provides leadership to Voluntary Action Sheffield's 45 staff, as well as administration and governance of the organisation. David BrownDavid Brown is the Director General of the South Yorkshire PTE and has 20 years’ experience in commercial, operational and business management positions in the rail industry. He joined South Yorkshire PTE in September 2000 and was promoted to the position of Passenger Services Director on 1 April 2002. In that role he was responsible for strategic planning, the integration of transport modes, the delivery of the capital programme and all operational and customer information services. David was successfully appointed as the new Director General of SYPTE on 1 April 2008. David has a degree in geography, is a member of the IOD and has a diploma in Company Direction from the IOD. |
