The Partnership
Sheffield First Partnership Structure
The Sheffield First Partnership (SFP) structure was reviewed during the last 6 months of 2008 to ensure that it continues to be a partnership fit for the challenges that face the city. SFP is recognised as a well-established and effective partnership. We operate, however, within a constantly changing environment and the time had come to check we had the right structures and processes to drive our ambitions for the city. We had also identified some areas of the partnership, or aspects of our work, which were not going so well and the review addressed these.
Our structure was slimmed down to make it clearer who is responsible for what. As well as the main SFP Board, we now have five thematic partnerships, responsible for ensuring delivery of specific priorities for the city. These are: Strong Economy; Safer and Sustainable Communities; Health and Well-being; Children and Young People 0-19+; and Environment. These five align to the strategic themes in the Sheffield City Strategy.
Alongside these structural changes, we increased our focus on improving performance and addressing our cross-cutting principles in the Sheffield City Strategy: prosperity; inclusion and sustainability.
We hope all these changes will not only make the Partnership more effective, but also easier for people to understand and engage with.
The full revised Sheffield First Partnership came into being at the beginning of April 2009. If you would like to obtain meeting papers or other information for partnerships within the old structure, that are no longer available on this site, please contact us.
